Eucharistic Ministry Volunteer Representative Jo Marie Cacioppo

The Eucharistic Ministry (E.M.)  serves at the Celebration of the Mass at the Saturday evening 5:30 vigil and at each of the Sunday Masses, 8:00, 10:00, 12:00 and 5:30p.m. Each Mass utilizes five E.M.’s. Three serve the Host Chalice and two serve the Wine Cup. Each Eucharistic Minister plays an important role in the Celebration of the Mass.

I take my role as the Eucharistic Minister Coordinator very seriously. In 1997, my husband John and I completed a two-day liturgical workshop for Eucharistic Ministers in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The presiding priest, Fr. Carlo convinced our group that we were in for a great learning experience. I will always be grateful for time well spent.

A little background information: Bob Wells, now deceased, guided the E.M.’s for many years. I thought I could never take over his job. I’m still here! In those days and in the “old church”, only three E.M.’s were needed. Time passes and with it, many changes. But the Celebration of the Mass stays constant.
